Dental Hygiene While Traveling

 In News

As the warmer months approach and we pack our bags for summer travels, don’t forget to keep up with your dental care! It can be difficult when you are spending hours in the car eating. You are bound to miss the opportunities to brush and floss! Here are some tooth savers for you and your family on your next trip!

Eat Healthy Snacks!

Sugar and treats are bad for your teeth at anytime, but especially when you are travelling. Since you can’t brush your teeth right away, the sugar sits in your mouth for hours – a prime feast for bacteria! This can lead to tooth decay. Bringing along healthy snacks such as veggies in a cooler are a good alternative! If you are travelling with kids, skip the fruit juice boxes and opt for water instead.

Washroom Break = Brushing Break

A good dental habit while traveling is to keep your toothbrush handy! When you decide to take a pit stop for a washroom break, use it as a good time to rinse and brush your teeth. Flossing can be done while riding in the car using a disposable floss stick.

End of the Day Clean Up!

When you have finally arrived at your destination, take a little extra time to thoroughly clean your teeth. Don’t forget to help the kids too!

No matter the travel or destination, end the day with a healthy and minty fresh note!
